What should I expect as a volunteer?
Typically, you will be required to volunteer for about 5 hours each day in exchange for food and accommodation. Your specific tasks may vary based on your skills and the host’s needs, so it’s important to communicate beforehand to align expectations. Some hosts may provide a stipend to ensure compliance with the minimum wage laws of their country, you will have to discuss that with the host directly.


Can you arrange a visa for me?
Flight and Visa arrangements are your responsibility. We simply list the opportunities, so you need to ensure you obtain the correct visa for the country you wish to visit.


Can hosts search for me?
Yes, hosts can search for volunteers based on skills, availability, and destination preferences, provided you’ve made this information available. It’s essential to update your profile with accurate details about your skills and travel plans.

Will you sponsor my trip?
Unfortunately, we cannot sponsor your trip. However, we have ongoing programs with superb payouts, that can earn you atleast 500-1000USD per month with minimal effort.

What is the minimum age to use the platform?
You must be at least 18 years old to create a profile and register. The minimum age to volunteer in most countries is also 18, though minors traveling with their parents may be accepted for certain family projects.


Is there an upper age limit for using the platform?
There is no maximum age. In fact, many hosts value the experience and specific skills that older volunteers can offer.


Can I volunteer as a group?
Yes, you can travel and volunteer with others, but each person must have their own individual profile. You can link your profiles so that hosts know you’re traveling together.

If travelling as a couple or as friends, you must buy the Couple / Friends package that covers 2 people. For additional people, you need to buy more individual memberships.


How does the platform work?
When you sign up, you can search for hosts and contact them directly for one year to offer your assistance. You can also find travel companions or language exchange partners. The platform is designed for cultural exchange, where you help in exchange for food and accommodation.


How do I reset my password?
To reset your password, click the “Forgot your password?” link on the login page and enter your email address. You’ll receive a link to reset your password. Make sure you’re using the email address associated with your account!


Can I sign up as a family?
Yes, you can! When registering, you can create a couple account and add details about traveling with children.

  • If you’re a single parent, you can register individually if your kid is under 18 years of age. Kids under 18 can join for free, and many hosts welcome families.
  • If you have 1 kid above 18 years age, you must buy the Friends/ Couple package.
  • If you have 2 kids over 18, you can buy one Couple/Friends package and then an additional Solo Volunteer membership.

Can I change my email address or name?
To update your email, log in to your profile, go to “My settings,” and update your details. For name changes, please contact support.


I can’t log in. What should I do?
Make sure you’re selecting the correct login option (Volunteer or Host). Check that you’re using the right username and password. If you’re still having trouble, contact us with your original email, and we’ll help reset your credentials.


I can’t log in because it’s asking me to upgrade to a couple account. What should I do?
If you applied as a couple or with a friend, but only have a single account, our system may ask for an upgrade. You can either upgrade to a couple account or have your travel companion sign up for their own account and link profiles.


Do you have any job opportunities?
We occasionally have openings. If you’re interested, send us your CV and ideas for how you could help Volunteer Network grow. Ideal candidates are well-traveled, tech-savvy, creative, and understand the importance of social media.


How does a couple account work?
Couple accounts are for people who always travel together. Both individuals need to complete their profiles, and any inquiries made apply to both. If you’re traveling with a friend only temporarily, sign up separately and link your profiles.


Can I use Volunteer Network to find paid work?
Volunteer Network is focused on cultural exchange, where you volunteer in exchange for food and accommodation. However, some hosts may offer payment for business-related tasks to comply with local wage laws. Make sure you have the correct visa.


How can I change the second Volunteer Network in a couple account?
Typically, names on accounts can’t be changed. If no emails have been sent via the site, we can update the second Volunteer’s name. If you need this change, go to “Contact Information” in your settings.


How do I edit my profile information?
To edit your profile, log in and go to “My account.” Click “Edit profile” to make changes. Additional options are available in the dropdown menu under “My account.”


Can I bring my dog or pet with me?
Some hosts are open to pets, but traveling with a pet may limit your hosting options. It’s important to check with potential hosts beforehand.


What is Volunteer Network’s policy on orphanages?
Volunteer Network does not typically list orphanages, as research has shown that institutional care negatively impacts children’s development. We focus on supporting foster care and community-based initiatives, which are seen as better alternatives for children’s well-being.


How do I pay?
There is a link to our Payment page which will take you to Patreon.com. Be sure to use the same email you want to register with us for the payment at Patreon.com. Once you deposit the money there, fill up the Volunteer Registration form with all your details. Share the Payment ID and Email ID used on Patreon.com so we can match it.

Once your payment is confirmed, you profile will be made active and you will receive an email.


Do you provide visa information?
We cannot offer visa guidance due to the variety of rules depending on nationality and destination. It is your responsibility to research visa requirements based on your nationality and the country you’re visiting.


What’s the difference between a couple and a single account?
Couple accounts are designed for friends, families (with children under 18), or partners who travel and volunteer together full-time. If you’re only traveling together part of the time, it’s better to purchase two individual accounts and link them within your profiles.


How can I renew my membership?
You will receive a reminder email one month before your membership expires, with an option to renew at a discounted rate via a link in the email or your profile.


Are membership renewals automatic?
Volunteer Network does not automatically renew memberships or charge you. You will receive two reminders, and if you decide not to renew, no further charges will be made.


Why is my credit or debit card not accepted?

You’ll need to reach out to Patreon.com team directly if your payment is rejected.


How long is registration for, and does it start from the date you pay?
Your Volunteer Network  membership lasts for one year, starting from the date your payment is processed.


If a membership is not renewed, what happens to my profile or account?
Your profile and details remain accessible, even after your membership ends. When you’re ready to reach out to hosts again, simply follow the payment instructions in your profile.


How do I renew my Volunteer Network account as a couple when I currently have a single account?
You will have to create a new account for the Couple/ Friends option.


Are membership renewals automatic?
Volunteer Network doesn’t automatically charge you for renewals. You’ll receive two reminders, and if you choose not to renew, you won’t be charged again.


What information can be seen about me?
After logging in, you can adjust your privacy settings in your profile. If you choose the “Keep my profile private” option, only logged-in hosts will be able to see your photos and information. You can also control who can view your approximate location. Your profile won’t appear in any search engine results like Google. For more details, check our Data Protection page.


How do you protect my privacy?
We never share your email address or personal details with third parties. We don’t sell your information or use it for targeted ads. Your details are only used to help you connect with hosts and travel worldwide. For further information, please refer to our Data Protection policy.


Is Volunteer Network safe?
Safety is our priority at Volunteer Network. We offer resources to help you feel safe during your travels.


Does volunteer Network screen users?
Volunteer Network provides tools to help members make informed decisions. While we don’t conduct routine background checks, we review every profile and ensure hosts meet our standards before their profiles are published. We also offer a “Verify by ID” system to confirm identities.


What should I do if things don’t work out?


If an exchange isn’t going as planned due to miscommunication or conflicting expectations, try discussing the issue calmly. It’s important to resolve conflicts, as both the volunteer and host are investing time and energy. If the situation can’t be fixed and safety is a concern, feel free to end the arrangement. Always have a backup plan in case things don’t work out. If necessary, report the issue to us for further investigation.
